History of stage lighting

In the early 1800's, the main concept for stage lighting came to be in the form of "limelight"
Limelight was the nickname for a light that used a high temperature flame concentrated on calcium oxide
This reaction caused a very bright white light

In 1840, incandescent bulbs emerged by passing current through a filament
The filament began to glow after getting hot enough
They were relatively cheap to make, but they could easily burn you and were often unreliable and had very inefficient power consumption

In the early 1900's, Light Emitting Diodes began to emerge after Henry Round
It wasn't until 1990 that the blue LED came into play due to it's complex nature
Following the creation of blue LEDs, people began using the 3 primary colors of Red, Green, and Blue in different amounts to simulate other colors (Yellow, Cyan, Magenta, and everything in between)
With bytes being 255 possible combinations, and 3 different colors, there are 1.6 million different light combinations using the standard RGB system
